Ride the Rail!
Whether a first time visitor or seasoned veteran, no trip to Seattle is worth making without a ride on the Seattle Center Monorail.
The Seattle Center Monorail, the countrys only fully self-sufficient public transit system, was originally constructed for the 1962 Seattle Worlds Fair. Today, the Monorail provides a fun, quick, and convenient link for tourists and locals alike from downtown Seattle to the Seattle Center. Two stations provide easy access to many of Seattles favorite attractions and popular destinations.
At the Seattle Center enjoy one of the many attractions housed on the 74 acre campus along with a host of theatrical and cultural experiences. Or, at the downtown Monorail station you will find yourself within easy walking distance of all major downtown hotels, shopping, eateries, and Pike Place Market with the Seattle waterfront just beyond.
The Monorail travels a one mile-route between stations in just under two minutes. Trains operate daily, with departures every ten minutes or less. One-way, round-trip, and monthly passes are available for purchase at both stations.
