Tillicum Village at Blake Island State Park

Catch the Spirit of Tillicum!

Unique. Creative. Unforgettable.

The Tillicum experience is a 4-hour excursion that features a spectacular combination of award-winning fire-roasted salmon, an intriguing cultural arts dance performance, magnificent scenery, and a relaxing cruise across Elliott Bay.

Tillicum's award winning salmon is bakes on cedar stakes over an alderwood fire: the method traditional to Northwest Coast Native Americans. This method preserves the succulent flavor of the Chinook salmon, accenting it with the distinctive flavors of alder and cedar. A demonstration of the salmon preparation process is available following the dance performance for the curious culinary in you.

'Dance on the Wind'; our intriguing dance performance includes dance, story-telling, and cultural information from several notable tribal groups in the region. The Tillicum Village dancer's regalia offer examples of the many distinctive art forms of the region. Following the dance performance there will be time to explore our traditionally fashioned longhouse, distinctive artifacts collection, watch carving and beading demonstrations or find treasures in the Gift Gallery to remind you of your time at Tillicum Village.

Tillicum Village is nestled in the evergreens on the shore of Blake Island. The pristine woods and saltwater beaches of Blake Island are home to numerous deer, otter, raccoon, chipmunk, eagles, and a variety of smaller birds. The voyage by charter vessel also offers the potential of viewing sea lions, harbor seals, Dahl's porpoise or possibly even an Orca. The magnificence of Mount Rainier, Northwest island views, and the perfect vantagepoint of the Seattle skyline will all offer memorable moments.
