You can now go beyond your normal zoo experience and get hands-on with some of your favorite animals with a program called Zoo For You. What is Zoo For You?
Zoo For You is a variety of animal experiences that allow visitors to go beyond the public areas of the zoo to feed, groom, touch, and learn about Point Defiance Zoo animals. Get hands-on and discover how zookeepers and aquarists care for the animals every day, while staying safe and healthy. Pt. Defiance currently offers four Zoo for You programs: Groovy Goats, Heroes of Unusual Size, Wild Zoo Tour, and Eye-to-Eye Shark Dives.
Do all the animal experiences take place outside? What if there is bad weather?
Rain or shine our programs continue! If the weather is bad enough to close the zoo, your program will be rescheduled or refunded.
Can we host a birthday party safely at the Zoo or Aquarium and enjoy Zoo For You fun?
Not currently. We are following COVID-19 protocols and ask that you only book these experiences with those in the same household.
How old do you have to be to enjoy Zoo For You?
Groovy Goats: ages 5+, Wild Zoo Tour: all ages, Heroes of Unusual Size: all ages, Eye-to-Eye Shark Dives: ages 8+
What should staycationers or travelers interested in experiencing Zoo For You know when they consider booking their tickets?
These private experiences allow you to interact with animals up close and learn from zoo educators about different species. Each experience has a single charge per group. To keep everyone safe during Zoo for You, these programs are offered to single-households only, staff and participants must wear a face covering (age 5 and over) and staff and participants must maintain a six-foot social distance. Heroes of Unusual Size runs through April and Groovy Goats runs through Memorial Day.
